Mental Health & Wellbeing
For World Mental Health Day - October 2024 - We showed our support by dressing in something yellow!
sUPPORTING OUR CHILDREN’S MENTAL WELLBEING IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO
All staff are alert to children’s emotional wellbeing - it is threaded through every aspect of our school life. We aim to identify children (and families) who may be struggling and ensure additional nurture and support is offered. We have a number of emotional health interventions on offer in school, including Listening Group, Nurture Group and other individualised support programmes. Children are taught to understand how to look after themselves and others through our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE), Online Safety and Health, Relationships and Sex Education (HRSE - see link below) curricula. We celebrate our uniqueness and our differences through special days such as ‘Express Yourself!’ and we aim to empower children’s voices and resilience through Safer Internet Day, Children’s Mental Health Day and the NSPCC’s Speak Out, Stay Safe programme.
If you are worried about your child’s emotional wellbeing, please contact your child’s class teacher or Miss Mahon, SENDCo via the school office.
